McKenna began her master’s program as a way to improve her GPA before applying to veterinary school, believing it would allow her to better support clients through the difficult times with their beloved pets. However, as she went through the program she realized there was a lot of work to be done in the world of grief and bereavement, and when she saw the Refinery 29 piece on Going With Grace she realized there may be a better way to help people with this difficult and often avoided topics.

She completed her Master of Science in Mental Health and Wellness with an Emphasis in Grief and Bereavement in May 2019. She then completed the Going With Grace Death Doula training in October 2019 and started Time Enough shortly after. Wanting to be able to offer knowledgeable care to clients with pets, she completed the University of Vermont Companion Animal Death Doula course in October 2020. McKenna is currently a doctoral student pursuing a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership with an Emphasis in Healthcare Administration and hopes that this education will help her expand Time Enough to provide even more holistic grief and end of life support.

When not working or in school, McKenna enjoys spending time with her family and dogs (Scooby and Sparky), reading, and doing crafts like cross stitching and crochet.
